15k armor is the same statistically as Droknar's armor (sometimes called 1.5k armor.) What is different is that 15k armor has a unique look to it. Please search the forums before posting a question. You'd be surprised how much information is out there already.

I'd advise you research the appearance of the armor before you buy. In some cases, you might think your Droknar's looks better. That was the case with my female mesmer enchantress armour. I got the 15k and it looks tacky to me. I'll go back to my Droknar's and scrap the 15k Grotto armor - that's how much I dislike it.

It's different in appearance, but not in cost (ignoring the cost of the components), both are 15k / piece + components.
For the record, the 2 versions of 15k armor are refered to as ascension armor (shiverpeaks) and obsidian armor (fissure) |

Fissure armor iirc costs 15K gold per piece, plus all the crafting material's needed for the 1.5K & other 15K armors.. PLUS you need ~105 Ecto's and ~105 Shards as well - and it's getting those shards & ecto's that costs mucho $$$.
Cuz you can either spend ages trying to farm FoW & UW and hope to get them dropped... or you have to grin and bit the bullet and buy from either players or the merchants... and you better bring mondo $$$ to the table if you wanna do that |

I just purchased my 15k dragon armor from Granite Citadel, I think it looks awsome, but its not really worth the outlay unless you are just concerned with "vanity armor" coz statisticly its the same as Droknars 1.5k armor.
Even if I didnt like it, ive now spent all my cash so cant get another Droknars set if I wanted to. lol. |

Which is why, with an assumption of course, I will not warrent a purchase on these "15k armor" sets. Droknor's will be more than enough at 1.5k apiece, not to mention the fact that the Elementalist's "15k" set probably looks retarded.

*sighs* The search tool & the SCREENSHOT EXPOSITION forum are your friends. If you haven't seen pics of them then you obviously haven't even bothered to check the SCREENSHOT EXPOSITION forum here on this site. I'd suggest you do.
There's who knows how many threads in that forum full of pics, and info of whats needed, of the 15K & Fissure armor's for different classes and genders. So How about you take a trip over there and look through them.. you'll see exactly what the 15K armor's look like. Just do a search on 15K armor's and you'll quickly find all the info about what you need - heck, just look at *MY* post above. I just told you - 15K per piece & same crafting materiels as drknir armor, except Fissure armor which also needs Ecto's and Shards. There, answered. Did you even read the thread anyways? Did you even bother trying to search for the answer? pfft... I'd say not. |

fissure armor is still 15k a piece to craft. But besides that u have to get ectoplasm and shards which cost 10k and 3k a piece. So in the end the fissure armor does end up being alot more than the granite or grotto armor.

For 2 of the sets of necro armors it gives 70 armor a piece not 60. But that is the only exception
